Club Founder
Maia Pham is a 14-year-old freshman at Corona del Mar High School. She has been learning piano for almost ten years. She has received First Prize at 2022 Paris Grand Prize Virtuoso, Silver Award at 2023 Grand Metropolitan International Competition, First Prize at 2023 Los Angeles Golden Classical Music Awards International Competition, First Prize at 2023 Salzburg and Barcelona Grand Prize Virtuoso, Gold Award at 2023 Global International Music Competition, Platinum Award at 2023 Appassionato International Music Festival, Second Prize at 2023 Charleston World Music Competition, First Place at 2023 Elite International Music Competition, First Prize at 2024 Golden Classical Music Awards International Competition, Gold Medal at 2024 Canadian International Music Competition, Gold Award at 2024 Euro Elite International Music Competition, First Place at 2024 Sonata/Sonatina Festival (MTAC Long Beach Branch), First Prize at 2024 Golden Classical Music Awards International Competition, Silver Prize at 2024 Appassionato International Music Festival, Gold Prize at 2024 Global International Music Competition, Honorable Mention at 2024 Bradshaw & Buono International Piano Competition, and Semi-Finalist at 2024 Thomas F. Hulbert International Piano Competition. She has been invited to perform at several stages, such as Carnegie Hall in New York, Mozarteum in Salzburg, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Cité de la Musique-Philharmonie in Paris, and Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona. Outside of piano, Maia enjoys playing tennis, writing, traveling, and doing arts and crafts with her younger sister.
Our Advisor
Jessica Haddy has been the concertmaster of the Southern California Philharmonic since 2016. She was a featured soloist for the ensemble performing works by Bruch, Beethoven and Rimsky Korsakov. As a soloist, Jessica has been invited to perform at the Laguna Beach Sunset Serenades and the Hortense Miller Estate concert series. In 2020, Jessica and harpist Jillian Risigari-Gai Lopez recorded an album featuring French and Argentinian composers. In the same year, she filmed a concert at the historic Long Beach Bembridge House with pianist Anthony Lopez, performing pieces celebrating the fall season. She has been featured on Mission Viejo’s television network as a soloist and performed in the city’s featured solo concerts.
Krutz Strings company based in Kansas City named Jessica Brand Ambassador in 2018, launching a social media campaign to feature string artists in the United States for the company. Each year, Jessica represents the company at NAMM convention in Anaheim.
Her event music company, Haddy Music performs at events and has been featured at several music festivals, including the Coast Film festival in 2023. Haddy Music is highly reviewed and was featured in Riviera Magazine’s Best of OC for event music.
While working in Los Angeles during 2000-2010, Jessica has appeared in music videos with Elton John, Sheryl Crow, Sting, Il Divo, and Randy Travis. Jessica was also the violinist for the first musical stage production of Quadrophenia written by Pete Townsend of The Who.
A Laguna Beach resident, Jessica teaches has a viola/violin studio in Laguna beach. Her students have positions as soloists and concertmasters in their school and youth orchestras. Her students have won prizes in international and local concerto competitions. In 2021, she became the strings director at the Waldorf school of Orange County and has been the strings coach and conductor at Corona Del Mar Middle and High School since 2017.
Adam Liu
Striving to be the best he can be, Adam Liu is a 14-year-old violinist currently in his freshman year at Crean Lutheran High School. In his free time, he enjoys playing in chamber groups and hanging out with his friends. Adam is currently studying with Joan Kwuon at Colburn. Recently, he was accepted into the CODA Honors Symphony Orchestra, and he will be performing with the orchestra in January. Adam hopes to be able to inspire others with his music and share his passion for music with his audiences.
Bodhi Thein
Bodhi is a 13-year-old at Thurston Middle School. Bodhi started playing violin when he was in 3rd grade at Top of the World Elementary School as a part of school curriculum. Then he started taking a private lesson with Ms Jessica Haddy and still does to this date. He joined CYOSC, Community Youth Orchestra of Southern California in January 2022. This is his second year playing as the principal of the second violin in the symphony. Bodhi also plays soccer and is part of Laguna Beach Boy Scout troop. He enjoys playing videogames in his pastime.
Emma Pham
Emma Pham is a 3rd grader at Harbor View Elementary School. She has been playing the piano since she was 4 years old. She is currently taking private lessons with Mrs. Kelly Neff to continue improving her skills. Emma enjoys arts and crafts and loves to read in her free time.
Grayson Grzeskowiak
Grayson Grzeskowiak is passionate about music and has been playing viola for four years. This is his second year serving as first chair viola in his middle school strings program. Grayson also enjoys swimming and cross country and is interested in architecture and history. He loves traveling with his family — especially his little brother — and was excited to recently visit Cremona, Italy, birthplace of the modern violin.
Michael Ho
Michael Ho is a freshman at Corona del Mar High School in Newport Beach and has been playing the piano for 7 years. He enjoys playing Nocturne Op. 9 No. 2 in E-flat major by Frédéric Chopin along with other pieces by the same composer. He also enjoys learning new pieces and playing video games in his free time. He runs for the CdM Cross Country team.
Bradley Kosoff
Bradley Kosoff is a 14 year old pianist and composer. He is in eighth grade and attends Carona Del Mar Middle School. He has played piano since the age of 7, and has been self taught for the last 3 years. He is also currently in the third year of composing his Piano Concerto No. 1. Outside of music, Bradley is interested in art, travel, and aviation. In addition, he sails for Balboa Yacht Club's Jr. Race Team program.
Olivia Osborn
Olivia Osborn is a violinist at Corona del Mar Middle School. She is in 8th grade and enjoys socializing with others. Olivia takes private lessons to improve her music skills and has a passion for volunteering. She is an active member of the Music Council and participates in Middle School Cheer. In her free time, Olivia enjoys hanging out with friends.
Samantha Sullivan
Samantha (Sam) Sullivan is a 15-year-old guitarist and violinist at Corona del Mar High School. She plays violin in the school's Camerata Orchestra and takes private guitar lessons. Next year, she will join the Madrigals Choir. Outside of music, Sam enjoys playing both indoor and beach volleyball.
Samuel Price
Samuel Price started out his musical studies at Opus Music before heading to El Camino and studying under Professor Roberts and Dr. Chambers. In that time, he has participated in a few masterclasses and won a handful of scholarships. Currently studying with Dr. Grodin at CSULB, he plans to obtain a Bachelor's in Piano Performance.
Tyler Pham
Tyler Pham is a 2nd-year student studying chemistry at the University of Southern California. He has been playing the piano for over 10 years. While busy with his major, he continues to take private lessons with faculty at USC's Thornton School of Music to further enhance his piano skills. In addition to his studies and music, Tyler enjoys playing chess.
Zachary Zheng
Zachary Zheng is an 9th grade pianist from Diamond Bar, CA. He is currently attending the Orange County School of Arts in the piano conservatory. He started piano when he was 11 years old. Some achievements include winning gold prize in Los Angeles Golden Classical Music Awards (2023), and first place in Grand Prize Virtuoso (2023). Lastly, Zachary is the founder of School Notes OCSA, where he has created a space at his school to contribute to the larger School Notes community.
